A Eulogy for my Brother xx

They say only the good die young, and nothing could be truer than in the case of Steve. We were always proud to call Steve our brother, he meant so much to each of us, all in our own special and unique ways. We remember fishing trips, Bathurst adventures, fun gigs and festivals, family celebrations, discussions about music, movies and photography and endless I.T advice, but this does little to sum Steve up.

Our brother had such an amazing character. He had a crazy sense of humour that went with his cheeky smile, a unique and ever changing style and an amazing passion for music. Steve was thoughtful and generous and always a child at heart, this was well reflected in his doting admiration for his new nephew Harry, who was always able to put a smile on Steve’s face even in his last days. He was such a kind and loyal friend and touched the hearts of even those he only knew for a little while.

Steve was a pretty quiet guy most of the time. He enjoyed playing his guitar and spent endless hours on his computer, but he could also be the life and sole of any party, bringing a smile to the face of those around him with his unique sense of humour and quiet charm. He always knew how to make his own fun, turning every day into an adventure.

Courageous and brave are two words that can be used to describe Steve. This was shown to us all in the last 11 months as Steve fought his battle with Cancer. Steve was always positive about this and was forever making jokes, finding humour on the net, and reassuring everyone that all would be ok. Steve was always more concerned about how others felt than himself.

Steve always joked that he was the last to be told about anything in our family, but this time Steve, you are the first to know. Enjoy your endless gig in the sky, know you were truly loved, will be always missed and never forgotten. xxx
